Here’s what Mayer had to say about this episode:
Most “rare” and expensive records are a rip-off in my personal opinion. There’s usually a reason they’re rare (they weren’t that good so they didn’t sell). However, there are a handful of rare records that are truly worth the extravagant prices they fetch. All of the records on this episode have sold for $500+. (Disclaimer: I do not own copies of ALL of these but I wish I did!) This episode best enjoyed with a glass of fine wine or champagne. Cheers

Mayer Hawthorne is excited to announce the surprise release of his new EP, “Party of One.” As an addendum to his latest album, Man About Town, “Party of One” expands on the themes of loneliness and the search for love.
I’ve been meaning to put this mix together for a while, and with the recent success of “The Get Down” I figured now’s the time. So here we here we here we go! A bunch of my favorite old school funky disco rap jams. Dip dip dive, so- socialize! – Mayer

Mayer is back with Episode 9 of Hawthorne Radio!
As some of you know, I’ve been obsessed with the vintage, roots reggae 45s lately. This episode features a healthy stack of current favs. Fire one up and vibe out. Hawthorne at the controls – bless up!
Remixed by singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and native New Yorker, Gabriel Garzón-Montano. The Brooklyn-based, Colombian & French artist received critical acclaim following the release of his debut EP “Bishouné: Alma del Huila” and gained international recognition after he was sampled by Drake on his song “Jungle.”
Gabriel is joining Mayer for the New York (6/24), Philadelphia (6/28), and DC (6/29) concerts on his Man About Town tour.
